My Role

Foxtel, in partnership with the AFL Coaches Association wanted to roll out a campaign which showed its support of grassroots footy and by rewarding the unsung heroes of the game.

Foxtel wanted to say ‘#ThanksCoach’ to all of the grassroots football coaches around Australia who have made the game what it is today. Our integrated campaign encouraged local footy players to express their gratitude to their grassroots coach whilst giving them the chance to win a 'trip of a lifetime'.

Leveraging the AFLCA partnership and utilising their high profile talent, we launched our campaign with a TVC and online social content featuring prominent AFL and AFLW coaches - thanking grassroots coaches for helping grow their teams star players. This was also supported by portraits of each AFL coaches thanking their coach which drove entries to the 'trip of a lifetime' and caused noise on social media as well as being picked up by many main stream media outlets. 

 

At the end of the campaign, our consumer promotion gave a selection of grassroots footy coaches a ‘money can't buy’ experience offering an exclusive coaching clinic with the AFL's top coaches and the chance to win their way to the Grand Finals. As a campaign sign off we launched content which depicted grassroots players of every age, gender and nationality thanking all of the coaches out there, who make the game what it is today! #ThanksCoach!
